Let’s. Watch. All. Of. The. Christmas. Movies. Streaming services like Disney+, HBO Max, Netflix and Hulu have the most and best Christmas movies, like Elf (of course), all three versions of How the Grinch Stole Christmas, and classics like A Christmas Story and Home Alone. And I would be remiss not to mention how to watch your favorite Hallmark Christmas movies, because if you’re like me, you started watching those back in October. So grab your hot cocoa, your fuzzy, warm blanket, and let’s start watching all of the cheerful, happy Christmas movies while we can. This great time of the year only comes once. Total # of Christmas movies: Close to 30 Christmas Classics: Disney+ has eight popular Christmas movies we all love, including Home Alone, Home Alone 2, The Santa Claus, The Santa Claus 2, The Santa Claus 3, The Christmas Carol (animated version with Jim Carrey), Miracle on 34th Street and The Nightmare Before Christmas. Christmas Originals: Just recently, Disney+ released a new Original series, The Santa Clauses, where Scott Calvin is on the search for his replacement to be Santa Claus. Disney+ has other Christmas movies and shows you can’t find anywhere else, like Santa Paws, Mickey’s Christmas Carol and Noelle (an Original movie with Anna Kendrick and Bill Hader). Total # of Christmas movies: 18 Christmas Classics: HBO Max has made its mark in the streaming world — let’s just say, three of the six Classics in HBO Max’s library used to be on Hulu or Netflix. With HBO Max, get excited to watch Elf, A Christmas Story, How the Grinch Stole Christmas (the Jim Carrey version), A Christmas Carol, National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation and The Polar Express. This service has other Christmas movies that are arguably “Classics,” but I know everyone can appreciate them: Four Christmases, Arthur Christmas, Jack Frost and Snow Day. Total # of Christmas movies: I counted over 100! Christmas Classics: I do want to mention here that you can find The Christmas Chronicles on Netflix. Santa Claus (or Kurt Russell) is out delivering presents when two kids jump on his sleigh. Christmas Originals: Netflix makes cute Hallmark-like Original Christmas movies (that was a mouthful). This year’s new Christmas Originals are Falling for Christmas with Lindsay Lohan and Christmas With You. Honestly, I didn’t find these two Originals to be Netflix’s best. So I’ll be watching their past year’s Christmas Originals Love Hard (with Nina Dobrev), Holidate (with Emma Roberts), and all of Vanessa Hudgens’ Christmas movies again this year. Trust me, you won’t regret it. Holidate is a hilarious romcom featuring Luke Bracey from Point Break and Emma Roberts from We’re the Millers. I have to say, the hilarious relationship of these two being each other’s date only for the holidays is worth your time. Another great movie that won’t waste your time is Klaus. It’s about the worst postman who ends up working in a random town in the North where he discovers Santa Claus is hiding out. And this movie just has a cute way of showing you how “traditions” of Santa came about, like the letters to Santa and the making of the sled. Adults and children will absolutely love this movie. Even though I have to admit all of the Hallmark Christmas movies are the same: a woman is on a business trip to Christmas town, the woman meets man, the woman doesn’t celebrate Christmas because of her past, a man changes the woman’s mind, and they end up falling in love … by the end of the week. But hey, these movies give you that Christmas cheer we all undeniably want leading up to the holiday season. Total # of Christmas movies: Close to 50 Christmas Classics: We should mention that Hulu has Arthur Christmas for the families. And if you’re looking for something new, throw on a Lifetime Christmas movie, like The Holiday Fix Up and Holiday In Santa Fe. Christmas Originals: The Original that I have on My List is The Happiest Season. But Hulu has many Hallmark-like movies you can enjoy on a snowy night, such as Catering Christmas, Holiday Date, and Dancing Through the Snow. AppleTV+ is the only streaming service with A Charlie Brown Christmas in its library this season. This streaming service also has a new Christmas Original everyone should run and watch: Spirited. Why? Because it stars Will Ferrell and Ryan Reynolds. If you hadn’t heard about this movie, I know your jaw just dropped and you’re rushing to watch this funny musical spin-off of A Christmas Carol now. These movies include Love Actually (a great British film with nine Christmas stories intertwined together), It’s a Wonderful Life, Die Hard (the “Christmas” movie), all versions of How the Grinch Stole Christmas, This Christmas and The Night Before (with the hilarious Seth Rogan and Joseph Gordon-Levitt).
